Obama on Trump – Fair To Say We’re Opposites In Some Ways
Obama: Trump Has Not Spent Time Sweating Details
Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” President Obama said he thinks that President-elect Donald Trump, “I think that he has not spent a lot of time sweating the details of, you know, all the policies”.
In my personal experience the best leaders are those that can effectively delegate details to capable people. Also based on personal experience, leaders that are micro-managers tend to be less successful because they become buried in detail. Micro-managers often have poor working relationships with their subordinates – can destroy confidence in them by sweating the details.
He added, “I think that can be a both a strength and a weakness. I think it depends on how he approaches it. If he — if it gives him fresh eyes, then that can e valuable. But it also requires you knowing what you don’t know”
Shall we assume Obama really meant a weakness? Obama is a good politician, something most would agree with. He’s good at covering all bases, and at duality.
Obama: Fair To Say Trump And I Are Opposites In Some Ways
Obama also said about Donald Trump, “I think it’s fair to say that he and I are sort of opposites in some ways.”
My wife’s response to this was immediate laughter. I jokingly suggested that they aren’t completely opposite, Obama is a man after all.
